CORRECTION OF DENTAL AND JAW DEFORMATIONS. TEETH ARRANGEMENT AND STRAIGHTENING WITH REMOVABLE APPLIANCES OR FIXED TECHNIQUES (BRACES)

Orthodontics is a science dealing with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of various deformities in the maxillofacial area, including crooked teeth and the relationship of the upper and lower jaw. In our clinic, in addition to all classic removable appliances and several types and systems of braces, we also use the so-called MTM clear aligners, an analogue of the famous Invisalign. They are "invisible" transparent silicone splints that are used to correct some distortions in the dental arches. Our clinic works in close collaboration with a specialist - an orthodontist.

Problems with the shape, position or size of the tooth can be solved in several ways. One of them is veneers. They are small ceramic flakes that are glued to the front tooth surface. They are mainly used on front teeth. With them, the change in the smile is truly stunning. However, when the tooth is very damaged, crowns are used - ceramic or zirconium. Sometimes minimal corrections in the shape and position can also be achieved with the use of photopolymer - the so-called bonding.

Braces

This is a treatment for patients over the age of 20 in whom jaw growth has completed.
It is performed using special correction systems called braces.

Up to what age can braces be fitted?
There is no age limit for orthodontic treatment and braces.

How are braces placed?
The braces are glued to the individual teeth with special adhesives without damaging the tooth structure, so the placement of braces does not harm the health of the teeth.

Is there any pain or discomfort during treatment?

When placing the braces, in the first week, bearing in mind that this is still something new for the patient, discomfort and slight numbness of the teeth may occur. It takes a little time for patients to get used to it, as with any new thing.

Can a patient with braces eat normally?

Eating is almost not disturbed, patients only need to be careful when biting into solid foods.
How long does orthodontic treatment take for adult patients?
It depends on the deformity – the condition of the teeth and the bite of the patient. But with modern systems recently this is possible for a period of 6 – 16 months.

When do you start placing braces in adult patients?

In all cases where it is necessary to correct the position of the teeth or the bite. Most often, orthodontic treatment is combined with other dental treatments. For example, when it is necessary to provide space for the placement of implants or in orthopedic restoration of teeth - before the placement of veneers, it is necessary to straighten the teeth and correct the bite.

Is daily communication with people disrupted after getting braces?

Braces do not interfere with speech. In terms of aesthetics, systems are now available that are almost invisible, unlike metal braces. There are now tooth-colored braces, as well as transparent braces. Thanks to them, others may not even notice that braces have been placed.
